Overview

In 2021, Streetleaf embarked on its first utility partnership with Tampa Electric (TECO), a utility company serving more than 840,000 customers in West Central Florida. TECO is committed to an ambitious solar energy plan, aiming to power over 260,000 homes by 2026 and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. As part of this mission, TECO has turned to Streetleaf’s solar-powered streetlights to support their sustainability goals.

Outdated street lighting and needed a modern, efficient solution.

The Challenge

Streetleaf supplied TECO with 2,375 solar-powered streetlights and remote monitoring services, allowing TECO to proactively manage the system’s performance. These solar streetlights offer a clean energy alternative while reducing both installation time and environmental impact. The remote monitoring ensures that any performance issues can be addressed immediately, improving efficiency and minimizing downtime
